“the Most Lovely Day”
My boyfriend and I were visiting Paphos for the first time, and happened to stumble across this wine tour in our trip planning. We decided to go for the full-day option with picnic lunch, and we had a fantastic time!! Linda, our guide, was so lovely and we had a great time with her chatting all day, asking random facts about the area and getting to hear what she loves most about Cyprus.
We visited multiple wineries and tasted some truly spectacular wines! Plus we even got to meet some of the owners throughout the generations, and got great tours of the process behind the wine. We took home lots of goodies from the different wineries, and we had the best homemade Cypriot lunch up on a beautiful hilltop! The bread was baked that morning, the eggs were fetched from the chickens at dawn and the meatballs and holloumi cheese were deliciously made with love. What really took our day to the next level was the fact that we got to see so much more than just the wineries. We stoped by a family-run Cyprus delight factory and sampled to our hearts content, had a Cyprus coffee before exploring the most picturesque monastary I could ever imagine, and (one of the highlights of my day) stopped at the Paphos cat sanctuary which is home to 600 cats! So much fun!
This day was truly amazing, both for the delicious wine and for the cultural experiences we received that went above and beyond our expectations. We can’t wait until the next time we’re in Paphos to do another tour with Linda!
